Enjoy All Your Music: With the addition of Bluetooth wireless technology you can listen to the music stored on your Bluetooth wireless technology compatible device. You’ll never tire of hearing your music through the Model One Digital thanks to Bluetooth wireless technology’s advanced A2DP profile, combined with the Model One Digital's trademark equalisation. And since Bluetooth wireless technology is of course "wireless", you won’t have to dig out an audio cable for your enabled-device every time you want to listen to your music through the Model One Digital. To get started, simply switch to the Auxiliary position and after initial pairing, start listening to your favourite music wirelessly. It’s that simple. But don’t worry, the Auxiliary input is still located on the back so you can continue to connect those “old fashioned” wired devices like an iPod!

Lossless Streaming: Along with the ubiquitous Bluetooth capability mentioned above the Generation 2 Model One Digital now scores Apple AirPlay 2 & Google Chromecast for the first time which means you can enjoy lossless streaming from your smartphone or tablet. The addition of AirPlay 2 and Chromecast support means the new Gen 2 can work with a much wider range of music sources, like Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, TuneIn radio and more. Effectively, if your phone can play it, you can stream it to the Model One Gen 2.

Great Engineering, Great Sound: The digital version shares many of its predecessor’s fine qualities as designed and engineered by Henry Kloss. It has the same quality 75mm speaker that handles highs, mids and lows with amazing ease. Yes, the Model One Digital is high quality mono! Rather than cram two tiny, cheap speakers into one small enclosure, the preference has always been to provide crisp, rich sound from a single, well-designed speaker. The full-range driver is mated to a built-in amplifier and frequency contouring circuit that automatically adjusts output over half-octave increments, resulting in musically accurate tonal balance and bass response. The enclosure's rear-firing port provides added efficiency and bass-response. If you haven't heard one already, then you won't believe how good it sounds!

Wood Cabinet & Fabric Grille: Cased in a furniture-grade wood cabinet, the Model One Digital is offered in walnut, black, and white finish. "The Model One Digital Generation 2 looks for all the world like a "normal" radio, complete with fabric grille, antenna and real-wood finish, but don't be fooled. At its core, the Tivoli is a wi-fi radio, with DAB+/FM taking the reins and now, Chromecast, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth connectivity its valuable passengers. 

This little gem scored five stars across the board in our testing, not just overall but for build, features and a clean, engaging sound – leaving us with no option but to hand it a What Hi-Fi? Award for the best DAB radio over £200. Its footprint is roughly that of a paperback (rather than a bigger shoe box, say), it is thoroughly likeable and it could have come straight from a cover shoot with Livingetc. 

We're not joking when we use the term "sonic finesse", either. Our Take On The Tivoli Audio Model One Digital Gen 2

Tivoli Audio designed the Model One Series to be one thing: the best table radio's you've ever heard. The super-sensitive tuner locks onto stations that many other radios simply cannot. There is also a special frequency-contouring circuit that continually adjusts audio output, maintaining detailed sound even with a weak signal. The single 75mm long-throw speaker delivers warm, yet clear mono sound in an expansive sound field, even when you turn up the volume. Connectivity is first class with the addition of AirPlay & Chromecast to the long list of existing features like Bluetooth, Wi-fi, Spotify Connect playback and FM & DAB+ radio. The design is the finishing touch. The small, solidly built real wood cabinet offers classic looks and impressively clean sound. Plus, the simple timber colours complement any decor.
